1. Currently, the top shop of the moment, and for several months running, is a family-operated farm and an  organic kava grower in Hawaii called Kona Kava Farm. Since they are kava farmers themselves, they never have stale product that’s been sitting on a shelf for months, or product that’s been processed in any way whatsoever. They are an organically certified grower. They even have their own Kava Blog, where customers can ask the experts any questions they wish (unusual for a Kava Farm, we think).

The present owner’s name is Makaira, and she has her own section of the Kava Blog called “The Mind of Makaira” — She posts often, and her highly personal, as well as informative, blog is a joy to read. At the moment, in our opinion, Kona Kava farm is the place to beat, and has been named in our top spot more than any other online shop.

3. Our favorite place to enjoy Kava in the emerging scene of kava bars is the Kava Lounge in San Diego, CA. As they say on their site; “Welcome to a warm and beautifully diverse nightlife experience.
