Thank you for providing a well informed and professionally created website regarding the Kava Kava plant. There are so many myths and bad publicity across a vast array of media outlets, from periodicals to televised sources and of course the expansive unlimited reach of the internet. I wish you a long and prosperous continuing journey in your endeavors. Peace and white light.
Warmest regards,
P
I have a question about kava. I was looking into something that could help me relax while I’m at work. I work in a high stress environment. Is this something I could drink while I’m at work or would I fell asleep? I don’t want to be sleepy at work; I just want to be able to focus on my job and the tasks at hand, but not stress out about them or feel people’s pressure. I also don’t want to be slower at my job either. Is Kava something I should try?
I also saw on another kava site that there are side effects if you drink it everyday like a rash. It also said that when you drink it it makes your mouth numb and leaves a film on your lips. Is that true? What are the side effects?
Maran,
Well, that’s way more than one question! As far as taking Kava at work; I would highly recommend against it, equally as much as I would never tell someone to drink on the job. In fact, Kava can have quite intoxicating effects, so it should only be enjoyed with friends and/or family, off the clock.
As far as the side effects; 99.9% is media hype or flat out disinformation. To know if you’ve got potent Kava, your lips SHOULD go numb…it lets you know that your kava drink / kava tea is potent. As far as rashes; we’ve consumed kava in my family for countless generations, and the worst side effects we or anyone we know has suffered, is the joy of enjoying our time with friends and/or family even more than we might have otherwise!
Aloha no,
