"I just had to let you know that I experienced kava for the first time on a trip to Fiji. I was amazed at how deeply imbedded into the culture kava kava is. It is as prevalent there as alcohol is here, but without the havok that alcohol seems to wreak in the world. Anyway, I read so much about how the taste of Kava is unpleasant, but, to be honest, I thought the flavor was quite rich. It was slightly bitter, but there was a sweetness to it. And the effects! - The effects were far more pleasant than a drink of any alcohol I have ever had! It could have been the place I was in, with Fijians present dressed up in traditional clothing, or my excitement, but I was hooked from the first taste. Now, it's a part of my world and my life often, and we are hoping some Kava bars will open in our town soon."
